This question is related to sidew effects from Finasteride. I have been on Fin for about 5 months. Over the course of that time I have experienced nipple erection/chapping and irritation several times. Mainly in the cold weather and mainly when I don’t wear an undershirt. Is this a tell-tale sign of gyno? I am pretty fit, so I think I would notice breast enlargement. With that said, when i wear a tight t-shirt, my nipples and aereola seem much more noticable than they used to. Is this in my head or am I starting to develop gyno? Please answer my question, I have spent a great deal of time and money on my prescription and doctor’s visits, as most have…I’d really like to put this issue to rest.
The Propecia website states that “In general use, the following have been reported: allergic reactions including rash, itching, hives and swelling of the lips and face; problems with ejaculation; breast tenderness and enlargement; and testicular pain. You should promptly report to your doctor any changes in your breasts such as lumps, pain or nipple discharge. Tell your doctor promptly about these or any other unusual side effects”.
I would suggest that you get your chest (breast) examined by the prescribing doctor. It may be that what you are experiencing has some lump below that is causing your nipples to appear erect.

I would say you are definately developing gyno. The same thing happened to me. The development is very slow so it is hard to notice. Mine began about 4.5 months after starting propecia and i kept lying to myself saying it wasn’t happening because the propecia was working wonders. Eventually, I developed intense burning in my nipples and nodules formed, so I quit using propecia. My breasts have gone down from where they were since I stopped using propecia (15 months ago), but they are still larger than they were prior to using it and I’ll have to get surgery for it. Hope this helps.
A lot of people are now saying that propecia gives them skin wrinkling and black rings around their eyes. I think its more likely that they are using minoxidil as well and thats whats causing these skin problems. I know from personal experience how bad minoxidil is for your skin.
I’ve been on Fin for 6 months now and my brests are noticably bigger and softer. I’ve loss pec muscle mass(due to a shoulder injury that prevents me from lifting) so that adds to the appearance. Also, my nipples are erect most of the time. No pain though thankfully, but having little A cups is embarrassing. Hair loss seems to have stopped but hair growth is not noticable. So my choice is breasts or baldness.
