Hi, Dr. Rassman,I would like to say that it is extremely generous of you to be extending help to thousands people out there who are troubled with hair problems.
I just have one short question for you and hope you may help me with it: do people generally recover from seborrheic dermatitis? It has been plaguing me for nine years, and I sometimes wonder if I will ever recover from it.

Yes, people do recover from seborrheic dermatitis if they are compliant with the treatment plan devised by their dermatologists. Some people heal slower than others and some of them do get better. Maybe the question you are asking is if there a cure for it? To that question, I would say “no”, but there are treatments that make it better and more manageable.

I’ve had seborrheic dermatitis for over ten years with up and down levels of severity. I’ve tried a lot of treatments but not steroids. I don’t like unnatural treatments.
I came up with a new formula that makes my skin look silky smooth!
I used to use Lamisil but I don’t use the Lamisil anymore although I might use it in times of emergency.
Ok so the new formula is al naturale.
1.Clear Aloe Vera Gel. I use any brand from Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid. CVS probably has a standard one too. Aloe heals and protects against bacteria.
2. Vitamin E capsule. Make sure it’s natural Vitamin E (d-alpha). Vitamin E protects against free radicals and strengthens new skin cells.
3. Palmer’s Cocoa butter cream. Moisturizes softens and tones skin.
4. I wash with Palmer’s Cocoa butter soap. This is important because it cleans without drying skin and ripping it of nutrients. I also wash my hair with this and I have no dandruff. Sounds crazy but I realized one day that I’m tropical so I got the inspiration to use cocoa butter stuff.
Combine the Aloe with the Vitamin E in your hand or whatever you like. Add as much cocoa butter cream as you think you need. Apply it to your whole face, since your skin is an organ all of it is linked. Do this twice a day.
The mixture is a bit oily but with time you’ll need less. but you should always apply a certain amount of it especially the Aloe and E.
Of all of the things I’ve tried this is by far the best. With got bad genes in this department. But one good thing is that it’s a quick indicator of physical and emotional health and our skin regenerates faster than normal. Super Power?
I have been suffering from seborrheic dermatitis for a couple of years now. I was wondering if it could possibly cause hair loss or small bald patches if not treated.
I was diagnosed two years ago, and the dermatologist I saw told me I had SD. I asked him what caused it and he said he couldn’t really tell me. I asked him if it was an allergy and he said no. Guess what. My SD is caused by a GLUTEN ALLERGY! I cut out all gluten. IT’S IN EVERYTHING! It’s tough to adjust to this lifestyle, but my god do I feel better! GLUTEN ALLERGY….CHECK IT OUT! I don’t even have SD symptoms anymore, but if I accidentally eat gluten, it comes back really fast. I hit it with tea tree oil, and that works GREAT.
