I’m in my mid-forties/male. I had a bad reaction to propecia after only 2 doses (after which I discontinued the drug). The reaction (incredibly oily skin) continues after 6 weeks, and I’m experiencing a massive shed (50% loss in the last two weeks). Could this be TE so quickly, and is it likely that this drug somehow triggered an accelerated MPB? Any chance the hair lost will regrow (e.g., because it shed due to drug insult)?
I can not explain what you are reporting. I am surprised at your theory, as Propecia is out of your body in a couple of days (half life of 5 hours for the drug in your blood stream). I can not respond to any of your symptoms from my experience, even on the oily hair reaction you have seen.

I am 26 currently. About an year back i was prescribed ‘Propecia’ alongwith ‘Minoxidil’ by a Dermatologist whom i consulted for my hairloss. After abiding by the prescription for about a month i noted that my scalp had suddenly became very oily which was never before, infact my hair was very ‘Dry’. I noted an increase in hair loss too following which i discontinued following the prescription. Today my hair is in a terrible state and my scalp gets too much oily again within just 2 days of washing my hair…..2 weeks bacl I restarted Propecia and continued for 10 days and to my horror the hair started falling at increased speed again and the ‘parting’ seemed to travek more deeper towards the back……i stopped it again when i read your similar kind of experience…..i am really scared…..can i do something to bring this back to normal?
