I have had pain in my testicles after I started Propecia. Is there a relationships?
There have been occasional reports of testicular pain on Propecia (finasteride). I have had thousands of patients using this medication and this has never crossed my path as a patient complaint, but some other doctors in the community have reported this as a suspected rare side effect. One doctor reported that the pain came on with the drug and disappeared when the drug was stopped, suggesting a relationship. It could have been coincidental. Most causes of testicular pain are caused by athletic stresses and for the young men, it may have something to do with puberty.
I would stop Propecia, wait a month and start it up again. If it happens a second time, then assume that this is a side effect of this drug for you.

I had testicular pain for like 2 weeks starting with the 2nd month on propecia…then it went away…but now here in June 2007, the testicular pain is back for three straight days and counting. Is it normal? Should I ignore it?
Hi,
I had a testicular pain while using Propecia, i stoped using it and the pain dissapear, THIS DRUG CAN BE DANGEROUS!!
I started propecia in September 2006
Almost immediately (a few weeks) I noticed testicular pain every night, to the point I couldn’t really walk ! It hurt pretty bad! It would pass after an hour, but boy was it sensitive for that hour! After a few weeks it disapeared.
A few months ago the pain came back. I noticed it for a few consective nights. Then it was gone again.
Never deviated from the 1MG a day. Who knows what it was. Should I be worried?
I have added avodart to the mix since.
So yes, testicular pain seems to be a side affect for me, but it is one I am willing to live with as long as the side affect isn’t really damaging me…..can you tell me doctor if it may be? I can ignore the pain if thats all it is
