I knew his hair looked too perfect for it to be real. I mean even a hair transplant wouldn’t bring back ALL your hair you had back when you were your teens. And Matt seemed to get ALL his hair back in such a short amount of time. So, it is safe to say matt is wearing a gold old hair peice. Matts hair looked to perfect for it to be his. If everybody could get hair like his through a transplants (assuming he had some work done), everybody would be getting a hair transplant and you would be on of the richest men in America. LOL. Am I correct? I am not saying transplants don’t work but I have seen people with hair transplants and they just don’t seem to cover up a whole lot. That is why so many people are probably just shaving their heads because they know you have to keep on spending a lot of money on transplants to get your so called “desired look” and even then there are still balding spots that are visible. And don’t get me started about propecia. I think it is honestly BS. E-mail me and let me know what you think. Please, post this on your web-site. The pictures at least.

Since this site’s first blog post on Matthew McConaughey, we seem to be taken up with all of the focus on his hairline. I am not into sensationalism, even though I have elected to share what has been sent to me. I do respect a person’s need for privacy, yet there seems to be no let-up on the probing about Mr. McConaughey’s hairline. Many women think that McConaughey is the best looking man in Hollywood and one would ask if that opinion would persist if his hairline was kept ‘au natural’. Some members of our culture do judge the book by its cover.
One of the local doctors here in the Los Angeles area let the word out that he had done McConaughey’s hair transplant. Was it because McConaughey has done such a good job at presenting the perfect hairline image? I even commented privately to my staff that the claim that this doctor did McConaughey’s ‘transplanted’ hairline could be believed because work of great quality is often done by the best hair transplant surgeons in the business.
Based upon the photographs at the link the blog reader sent, then compared to our first posting about this, there appears to be no change in McConaughey’s hairline from the mugshot taken in 1999. It would be in poor taste and a violation of the patient’s rights to even admit to performing the surgery without the express permission of the patient — not to mention that it would be outright fraudulent for any doctor to take credit for a stylist’s apparent hairpiece.
Update, Sept 29 2006: Another reader just sent this article that has apparently more recent photos of Matthew McConaughey, where his hairline can be seen (for those that are interested) — Splash News Online.

Why did you put up that guy’s post? Sounds like he’s just some bitter old bald guy that’s mad at the world and doesn’t believe in either transplantation or DHT causing hairloss. Sorry that you’re one of the unlucky ones, dude. No doubt being an angry Norwood 7 endears you to many.
My guess is that’s an old picture prior to his procedure. I checked the website and it doesn’t indicate when it was taken. Not very slick.
This post was put up because we are so caught up with celebrities and what they do to make their appearance better. Because they have all the money they have the luxury to do anything they want and we being “normal” people of society want to know how to enhance ourselves just like them but without the luxury of having tons and tons of money. In Matts case because he was losing his hair like so many males and few females are, we get more caught up with him. The thing is, he virtually went from being a middle aged bald man with frontal hair loss, to having the hair line of an 18 yr old. Isn’t that odd considering doctors including Dr. Rassman have said that this can never happen. Even patients on the http://www.newhair.com website don’t even have as good resluts as his no matter how much money you have. His hair looks too perfect at times to be a hair transplant. Look at Elton John, that aint his real hair but it sure looks damn real and perfect almost too perfect just like matts hair. I honestly don’t know how old that pic of matt is, but I have seen recent pics of him on the perezhilton website and the pic on this website looks very recent. The thing is, if he did have a HT then the doctor who did his transplant and Dr. Rassman should be using him as an example of what can happen when you get a good doctor to do your hair transplant. This way they will get more people to come forward to get a HT and the doctors can make more money and help more people correct? But I have yet to see a post by Dr. Rassman or any other doctor saying that Matthew Mcconaughey’s hair can be achieved by a hair transplant patient. How come???? Comments? Please.
Strange post to be sure. First off, you seem to hold the “Perez Hilton” site in high esteem for some reason. After a quick review it’s obvious that it’s simply a celebrity oriented slam site that relishes putting people down. Not exactly the pinnacle of credibility to be sure. They’re in the business of ripping people for profit, so it’s really not a stretch to imagine manipulation (such as passing off an old picture as new) on their part to bolster their bottom line. Regarding Mr. McConaughey’s hairline, I disagree that it’s the “hairline of an 18 year old”. He simply has an adult hairline with no recession. It doesn’t appear abnormally low from my perspective. As a somewhat avid reader of this blog I cannot recall Dr Rassman ever saying that hairline restoration “wasn’t possible” as you say. If I’ve somehow missed it, please provide a link. In fact, the following quote from the posting above, “I even commented privately to my staff that the claim that this doctor did McConaughey’s ‘transplanted’ hairline could be believed because work of great quality is often done by the best hair transplant surgeons in the business” seems to indicate that he DOES believe it’s possible to achieve such results through the follicular unit method of transplantation.
Lastly, Doctors, like lawyers and other professionals (unlike pathetic websites like “PerezHilton”), are bound by confidentiality and a professional ethical code. To publicly disclose that they performed work on someone without their consent would not only open them up to censure from their peers, but potential legal action from the patient as well.
My main issue with your post is that you are the type of person who spreads ill informed opinions as fact. Examples such as Propecia is “BS” and ineffective as well as that all transplants “don’t cover up a lot” are lame, completely subjective nonsense that potentially do others who are seeking credible information a disservice.
Are you sure you don’t work for Dr.Rassman in any way shape or form?? LOL. I don’t understand how the post is strange? A lot of people seem to be curious about Matthew Mcconaughey’s hair and hair transplants and I came across this website and decided to send the link to Dr. Rassman. Like I said before I don’t know how old the picture is but I am trying to find out. It may or may not be a recent picture of him, but compared to other pictures I have seen of Matt, this seems to be a recent pic (just my observation, you have to make your own which you already have). But without proof of the date of picture NONE OF US can say for sure. No, I don’t seem to hold the PerezHilton website in high esteem. I never indicated that or said that. Let’s say for example that Dr. Rassman or any other HT doctor posted that picture and they didn’t indicate the source of the pic. We would all think and believe that this picture is the real deal and say that this picture for sure is legit. But because I indicated the source and it turns out that this source trashes celebs you think it may not be legit (yes, it is a biased website but we don’t know if it is a real or fake picture. Think about it this even CNN is biased and lots of times people believe everything they hear on CNN and think “they can never be wrong”)
And you mention Matt having an “adult hairline without recession”. Well, that sure does sound like a person with a “teenage harline” to me. And I never said that a hairline restoration isn’t possible, what was said was that a hairline which doesn’t show recession (teenage harline) was not possible. I don’t have a link for that, because that would take hours and hours of searching on this website but do you have a link for me that says a perfect hairline can be achieved by a HT? But if you are that concerned go on any search engine and type in hair transplant and many HT doctors will say the hairline you had as teenager or the hair you had as a teenager can not be brought back. Remember, a maturing hairline is the sign of slight recession and that is different than a perfect hairline. And I don’t doubt Dr. Rassman saying a guy in hollywood leaked out that he did Matt’s hair but I mean saying that, doesn’t it go against patient confidentiality (but we really don’t care because we are so consumed with finding about celebrities) but I mean how do we really know for sure that a Los Angeles doctor did his HT? Like I said for all we know Matt could be wearing a rug, who really knows but Matt himself.
The last thing is, I am not spreading ill informed information. This is something I found on a website I have nothing to do with it I don’t even know who PerezHilton is. I gave me opinion based on what I saw and you are giving yours based on what you are seeing. Because, lets be honest the picture clearly showed Matt having visible bald spots and if he did have a HT I thought to myself it ain’t covering up lots. and I mean being a celebrity like him he must have known that propecia was available but maybe it didn’t work for him (once again just my opinion) that is why I said that propecia is BS.
But if a hair transplant is so great why aren’t more people going through with it and why aren’t more people using propecia? I see tons of people just shaving their heads or wearing ball caps. And I am sure some of these people have good jobs that can afford a HT and are very much self conscious about their hair.
You shouldn’t label people as ill informed if you don’t know ALL THE TRUTH.
i hope hes not using a hair piece hes too cute for one besides in that pic his bhair is wet so its gonna look like hes lost hair everyone who gets their wet looks like they lost some hair
