Your info site is really helpful. I am currently taking a nutritional supplement which is called 6-OXO. It is supposed to increase your testosterone levels. after taking it for 4 weeks, I definitely noticed something, (increased energy, strength, better mood, increased libido, muscle hardness and mass) but I also noticed an excess loss of hair. Now I’m 31 and have a full set of hair, but I’ve noticed this excessive hair loss start about 3 weeks into me taking the 6 OXO. Should I seek medical advice? What doctors specialize in these types of problems, and do you have any referrals in the LA or Orange County area in California.
The symptoms you present do reflect increased testosterone, including the hair loss you are experiencing. We have offices local to you in Newport Beach and Los Angeles. You should get your scalp mapped out for miniaturization at the time of your visit to shed light on the underlying cause of the hair loss and the possibility that you have a latent genetic balding problem brought on by the increased testosterone.

6 OXO is marketed in part as an aromatase inhibitor designed to decrease the amount of testosterone that is naturally converted into estrogen. From what I have read, its not all that effective. Currently, the belief is that high doses of resveratol are a more effective aromatase inhibitor. But then you get more T, and hence more hairloss. For more on the beliefs of resveratol, see this article and its supporting references: http://www.t-nation.com/portal_includes/articles/special/rezVarticle.html
Like you, I was about 31 when I started playing with this sort of stuff. In hindsight I say the following:
1. In the context of resistance training, diet and nutrient timing is far more important than any legal supplement you can buy.
2. I never noticed hairloss until I started screwing around with T boosters and thermogenics.
When I was 20 years old I took a high dose of 6-OXO for two weeks. I planned on using it longer, but one night I noticed my head starting to itch and the next morning I lost so much hair in the shower that it covered the drain. I am now 25 and have less hair than most 50 year olds. What is worse, the inflamation that I experienced in the first year after taking the 6-OXO was so severe that it caused skin complications on my scalp. Doctors ended up having to put me on a regimen of corticosteroid injections to control the symptoms and prevent scarring. It has been a nightmare and is the worst mistake of my life.
