Hello,
As a 21 year old male, I am shocked to be finding hair in the sink, shower, pillow, etc. I haven’t done an exact count, but it seems to be more than normal (+100/day). My hair is naturally light brown, but the hairs that are falling out seem to lose color and turn blond near the root (about 1/2 inch from the bulb). While I am genetically predisposed to MPHL, I was hoping that a recent increase in stress was to blame. Are these blond-rooted hairs a precursor to MPHL or is the hair loss a result or something else?
Thanks
In male pattern baldness, hairs of an affected area gradually become thin, before they ultimately fall out. Light hair that you noticed is probably a result of your hair miniaturizing. You should have your hair and scalp mapped out for miniaturization to determine just what is happening to you.
In a man who is genetically prone to male pattern baldness, an increase in stress level can be a facilitating factor in the process of their balding. In other words, stress can trigger the genes involved in your baldness, and expedite your male pattern balding process.
