Hello Doctor. I’m a young male and I have thick curly hair. Recently my hair has begun to thin and I seem to be losing quite alot. My question relates to the pattern that I’m losing it in. It seems to be remaining thick on top but the sides have become very thin. They used to be bushy but now you can see my scalp through it. I’ve also observed that where the hair has fallen out on the sides there is no regrowth - just a couple of tiny hairs coming through. Is it normal to lose hair in this way? I thought it would grow back. Thank you.
You need to get a good examination including the mapping of your scalp for miniaturization. This is critical for getting a diagnosis and I would rather not guess without such information and without you sitting in front of me. Get a good doctor to make the diagnosis.
