I have a 13 year old african american daughter continually suffers from her hair shedding. She has alot of hair however, I cannot get it to grow consistently due to the amount of shedding she experiences. She has a relaxer done professionally and I keep her hair moisterized. She stresses over this and so do I. I do not know what to do at this point. Please help.
Many African Americans who use relaxers have hair pulling and hair loss. Look to what she is doing as the cause. Try to have her stop the use of relaxers and see if this does not stop the shedding.
Hello. How many hairs does this girl lose a day? I might have the same problem but I am not african American. I am 13 years old too. It is stressful isn’t it?
Hi my name is stephanie, I am 20 years old and have been experiencing hair loss since I was at least 7 or 8. I have a patch missing on the right side of my head and now it’s starting to come out on my left side. I’ve only been to the doctor once. I got discuraged because it seemed he knew nothing about my condition so I never went back. But it has affected my self esteem and many other things in my life.
