(female) I had a coronal brow lift 3 years ago. My forehead is wrinkle free- however, my surgeon didn’t explain I would have hair loss along the scar edges. Anyway- I am going to have a HT next month to fill in the gaps -which will acquire 250 graphs. Will this be worth the expense and more surgery? I am not being hasty, because I went to 3 different surgeons in the Boca Raton, Fl area and all told me the same thing- don’t worry- this in very common in brow lift procedures.
I agree that a hair transplant should solve the problem. I see a great number of patients with hair loss and scarring from a brow lift, but I can not say if it is common. The statistics are not clearly available.
I had a coronal brow lift seven years ago. I asked about hair loss and was told, “You have so much hair only you will notice.” Well, only one person has directly commented on how much thinner my hair is; however, I often receive comments such as “What’s wrong with your hair”, “Why is your hair so frizzy” “Can’t you brush your hair.” I am still losing so much hair in the shower and afterwards too when combing it. I am freaked out and wondering when it will stop–when it all falls out completely? It’s thin on top, very thin on the sides, and thicker at the lower middle. It’s also dry, brittle, and snaps easily. It doesn’t lay or fall naturally anymore. The scar is becoming more visible and difficult to conceal when hair is pulled back. I have a hyperthyroid, however, my TSH is not to where my endocrinologist feels medication is warranted. I would have never had this surgery had I been told of the hair loss or hair shock. What do I do?
