In your July 21st blog entry, you clearly mention that all steroids are bad - both for your body and toward precipitating hair loss. However, specifically what about topical corticosteroids, such as Luxiq? Last year, my dermatologist diagnosed me with seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp and proscribed me Luxiq to take pretty much indefinitely. Could this drug worsen my hair loss? I’m very concerned that I may be doing something that is speeding up my rate of hair loss! Please respond.
Steroids cause hair loss. I personally do not recommend daily or twice daily use of steroids for seborrheic dermatitis. Occasional use one or two treatments a week may not impact hair loss but it should be used sparingly.

Im a cadian living in Japan for the past 6 years.
My hair has been falling out and breaking recently more then usual. My hair was naturally curly but is not straight and very weak. I went to the see a couple of different doctors and they took blood test thinking it may be a thyroid dysfunction…thankfully it wasnt. Im healthy internally.
I have been given some sort of “mild” steroid cream to apply to my scalp twice a day. The doctor couldnt speak any english and m,y translator had a difficult time explaining what the cream would do for my hairloss problem. Please help me, Im 29 years old and I used to love my hair….but now its changed and its been a really hard blow to my self -esteem. I dont like going out anymore, Im always paranoid…help me please.
