Hi dr Rassman! thanks a lot for this wonderful site. I am wondering ıf you see some hair loss signs in your son, what will you do FIRST to treat it? and also, have you ever used concealers such as toppik, dermmatch, couvre….? can they effect the working of finasteride? thanks a lot.
If my son had early miniaturization, I would immediately start him on Propecia. That is what I did with one of my three sons. The use of concealers should not impact finasteride.

I just wanted everyone to know that there is now another cosmetic concealer that is on the market. It’s called Scalp Makeup for Thin Hair and it’s made by ShaBo Cosmetics. It’s a fairly new product, but it has many advantages over DermMatch and Couvre. First of all, it’s a loose powder instead of a cream or a compacted powder. It’s applied dry, to a dry scalp and usually it’s applied after you have already styled your hair. You apply it with a specially designed brush that comes in the set. It’s extremely easy to wash off of your scalp with regular shampoo and tap water, yet it has a water resistant property so that you can sweat or enjoy a hot tub or accidently get caught in a light rain. It comes in 19 different colors, and there is no extra charge for custom colors or samples. I have found the customer service is personal and excellent.
I am not trying to promote this product, but I have spent an embarrassing amount of money on many, many different products - only to find that they are hard to use or don’t work quite right for me. I’m excited about this product and I feel that I should share my positive experiences with others who are searching for something that will work for them.
