I am a 54 year old female.
A dermatologist diagnosed me with chronic TE. In the past 7 years I have had 5 epsiodes of increased hair loss (50 to 80 hairs after shampooing). These episodes last 6 to 10 weeks then subside.
The first time it happened was after being diagnosed with breast cancer….one surgery to remove the tumor…a few weeks later surgery to remove lymph nodes….a month later I started 6 1/2 radiation treatments (no chemo and I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years.) The first episode started about 2 months after I finished the radiation treatments.
I have had all the usual tests, iron levels, thyroid etc and all was normal.
My question is….
Is it possible that these TE episodes will finally stop? I do not have the thickness to my hair I once had because of these episodes….but no bald spots. My dermatologist said they may stop…but I would love to hear your thoughts. Please help.
I agree with your dermatologist.
