I am an 18 year old male with no family history of baldness on either side. Yet my hair has been falling out all along my hairline. In order to fight this i am taking 1/2 a pill of propecia daily. I have had no problems with it thus far, but my breast area is getting tender… but not in any specific spot. I do not want to grow breasts, so should I stop taking the drug?
Clearly, you need a doctor to control what you are doing and what you are taking. A very small number of men will develop breast tenderness and nodules in their breast on Propecia (finasteride). Of the few patients who talked to me about this, it seemed to be independent of dosage.
You leave a lot of information out of your email, so I have to guess a lot here. Were you prescribed the Propecia by a physician that diagnosed you with male pattern baldness (MPB)? Or did you start taking Propecia by buying it off the internet or getting it from a friend, because you assumed you were losing your hair? It is possible that your hairline is just maturing. I don’t have the benefit of seeing your scalp or hair, so I have no idea what you’re dealing with.
