The article is basically a big plug for a company that makes what appears to be satin pads to put under a baby’s head to prevent traction.

It is normal for babies to have patchy hair, as their hair changes from baby hair into a more mature child’s hair. There are diseases of the scalp that cause balding, but a good pediatrician should be able to make the diagnosis. In my 19 years in the hair business, I have never had a infant or baby brought in to see me, but I have been consulted for Ringworm, a childhood fungus of the scalp.
