Hi,I’m due to get a transplant in a couple of months and have been on Propecia for around 2 years (I’m 26 years old). For the last 6 months or so I’ve noticed side effects that are getting worse, even after cutting the dosage down. I plan to stop taking finestaride after surgery, but will keep on it for now to help prevent shock loss. How long after the surgery do you need to take finestaride for to help prevent possible shock loss?

You should take the drug for a full 6 months (minimum) after a hair transplant and then after stopping it, watch as the hair gain (or retention) you saw from Propecia will be lost over a few months.

I’m 18 and my hairline began receding around 15-16 (baby hair and mature hairline.) It’s noticeably growing in from the mature hairline (from V shape to concave.) I have a natural widow’s peak and it’s growing in too; the v used to be higher from my highest wrinkle.
My question to you is why? I was born naturally curly, very curly, with a high hairline; when I was in middle school, and still today but with a big V, my hairline isn’t as high as it used to be when I was younger. Now my hair is wavy/straight; it has been like this since around 5th grade and it’s still getting more wavy/straight around the frontal hairline where it’s the most wavy. No I’m not balding, but I don’t know if it’ll happen any time soon since my father is bald and my mother’s father is bald; my father’s father didn’t significantly lose any of his hair and my grandfather’s brother has all his hair.
My hairline is still changing, the hair on my temples are growing in more, I see new hairs all the time around my hairline and I want to understand why.
